ORLANDO, FLA - - Bobby Massa fired a final-round, 2-under-par 72 and climbed to 12th place individually as UT Arlington finished sixth in the Rio Pinar Invitational held Monday and Tuesday in Orlando, Fla.
Massa's 73-71-70-214 led a Mavericks group that placed four golfers among the Top 37. UTA, which entered the tournament ranked in the Top 40 nationally in two separate rankings, moved up a spot on the final day in the 18-team field. UTA shot a 290-288-290--868 and was 22 shots behind champion and tournament host Central Florida.
UTA edged Iowa State by two strokes for sixth.
Zack Reeves and freshman Zach Fischer tied for 27th with a three-round total of 218. Michael Van deVenter finished 37th overall with a three-round, 4-over-par 220.
